Irishman Kieran Hannon has been named one of the "most influential" chief marketing officers (CMOs) on Twitter.

Mr Hannon is the CMO of American electronics manufacturer Belkin, and one of the founding members of the Irish Technology Leadership Group in Silicon Valley.

The list of “most influential CMOs on Twitter” was compiled by analytics firm PeerIndex and published by Forbes magazine. It looked at how CMOs engaged with others Twitter users. The CMOs were rated on activity, audience and authority rather than how many followers they had.

General Electric's Beth Comstock topped the list, followed by SAP's Jonathan Becher and Mashable's Stacy Martinet. Visa chief marketing officer Antonio Lucio came in fourth place, while Nikesh Arora of Google was fifth.
