A US federal judge has ordered Elon Musk and the Securities and Exchange Commission to resolve a dispute about the Tesla boss's tweets between themselves.
The SEC had asked Alison Nathan to hold Mr Musk in contempt of a settlement imposed last year that imposed rules on his tweeting.
The agency had claimed he violated the settlement by failing to get pre-approval from Tesla for a February tweet about the company’s production numbers.
Judge Nathan said the case “screams of working it out” between the parties outside of court. She gave Mr Musk and the SEC two weeks to settle the dispute or she would make a decision herself.
Mr Musk told reporters outside the courtroom that he was “very happy”. – Copyright The Financial Times Limited 2019
