Oneview Healthcare, the Irish company listed in Australia, has secured a significant multi-year contract to supply software to NYU Langone Medical Center in the United States.

This will initially be deployed at NYU’s Helen L and Martin S Kimmel Pavilion, which is set to open in 2018 with 374 beds.

It will then be rolled out across an additional 2,000 devices in its system. This will be one of Oneview’s biggest contracts to date and follows its successful IPO in Australia in March when it raised A$62.4 million.

NYU is rated as one of the top 10 academic medical centres in the US and operates five hospitals, clinics and medical centres in New York City’s boroughs.

The Oneview software will allow NYU doctors and nurses to collate better, real-time information about patients. It digitises a range of processes, helping staff to allocate resources. It also provides data and analytical tools to measure productivity and identify where improvements are possible.

Oneview president and founder Mark McCloskey, who is currently in Boston with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year chief executives retreat, welcomed the contract win.

“Oneview is honoured to have been selected by one of the United States’ leading academic medical organisations, where we believe our unique software will provide further innovation.

“The Oneview platform helps improve productivity, reduce waste and reduce costs for hospitals, and delivers better clinical outcomes for patients while dramatically improving the experience for patients in hospital.”

Oneview’s software includes apps that can be installed on tablets and smartphones to allow patients to learn more about their condition, and track their treatment.

Patients can exchange messages with medical staff, access information and entertainment via the internet, and stay connected to family and friends via live video streaming services such as Skype.

Founded in 2008, Oneview employs 108 staff in offices in Dublin, Australia, the US and Dubai. It plans to add another 50 staff by the end of this year.
