Monday is D-Day for Dublin-based Soundwave, the former participant in NDRC’s LaunchPad accelerator programme.
The app, which goes live on iPhone and Android today, allows users to share what music they are listening to on their phone. The official launch will take place in at London's flagship Apple Store on Monday with actor Stephen Fry.
Fry was part of the beta testing phase of the app, along with Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak.
Chief executive Brendan O’Driscoll said the foundations for Soundwave were laid during the company’s time in LaunchPad.
“It allowed us the time and space to refine the product and the access to NDRC mentors and alumni provided invaluable knowledge and insight,” he said.
NDRC chief executive Ben Hurley said, the progress of Soundwave highlights how NDRC helps commercialise ideas.
“NDRC provides the structured approach and support that startups will benefit from long after programmes like LaunchPad have concluded,” he said. “Soundwave is a success story for NDRC and highlights the positive economic impact of targeted investments in innovation.”
