Tech Tools: Plantronics reveals Backbeat Sense

Ultra-comfortable Bluetooth headphones at a reasonable price

The Backbeat Sense headphones not only look and sound great, they also have a few extra features that make them worth considering

If you still think of Plantronics as the people who make Bluetooth headsets for your car or office, you’re missing out. It has branched out into headphones, and not only are they pretty good, they’re not too expensive either.

The Backbeat Sense headphones not only look and sound great, they also have a few extra features that make them worth considering.

They’re wireless, working over Bluetooth, and are probably some of the more stable headphones I’ve tested. There are controls on the side of the ear cup for volume, or selecting tracks, so you don’t have to touch your phone.

That's reasonably standard for Bluetooth headphones, but the Backbeat Sense offers a couple of extras. A button activates a mic that allows you to listen in on what is going on around you. And when you lift one of the ear cups, the music is automatically paused. plantronics.com
