In an effort to sort of the tweet from the chaff, Twitter has decided to gather hand-curated content into collections from various celebrities and brands including William Shatner and Beats by Dre.

When users visit the profile page of participating celebs they will see a “browse collection” button that brings them to the curated content, inevitably promoting their own products or services.

Interestingly, Twitter has made this feature available to all online publishers with the option to embed these collections on their website or include in a TV broadcast package. You can expect more of this effort by Twitter to become a platform for news and product discovery.

“In the coming months we’ll be testing more new experiences we hope give you the most personalised and relevant information about the places and things you want to explore,” said Twitter product manager Amaryllis Fox.
