Cable operator UPC saw its home phone subscriptions increase by 23 per cent in 2013, with broadband subscriptions rising 11 per cent.
By year end, the company had a total of 1.06 million service subscriptions, including 338,300 broadband subscriptions, 293,500 phone subscriptions, and 338,300 digital cable television subscriptions.
In the fourth quarter alone, it added 19,700 subscriptions for its fibre powered broadband, TV and phone services across its home and business divisions, a 7 per cent increase on the same period last year.
UPC chief executive Magnus Ternsjo said the successes were "underpinned by the support of a great workforce, the power of UPC's fibre network offering the best digital services in the market and our continuing focus on operational excellence".
“These are strong results which highlight the progress and momentum we have achieved in meeting customer needs.”
Subscriptions for the company’s Horizon TV package have now exceeded 50,000, he said.
