Education software firm Ellucian is to create 50 jobs in Dublin, it confirmed on Thursday.

The new roles will be in the areas of technical sales, marketing, customer support and product development. The project is supported by IDA Ireland.

Ellucian provides higher education software, services and analytics to 2,400 institutions in 40 countries. The Virginia- headquartered company employs 3,000 people worldwide.

The group announced a partnership agreement with Cork-based Akari Software in 2013.
