Vodafone snaps up O2’s Healy

His title will be head of external relations, dealing mainly with regulators

Vodafone: busy recruiting
Vodafone: busy recruiting

It's not quite as bold as moving from Liverpool to Manchester United, but it isn't far off it. Gary Healy, the senior executive in charge of regulatory affairs at O2 Ireland before it was bought by Three, has left and agreed to join Vodafone.

Healy is a nice catch for Anne O’Leary, Vodafone’s chief executive.

His title will be head of external relations, dealing mainly with regulators. Unfortunately for Healy, the brief also includes politicians. Tea and barmbrack aplenty.

When he arrives at his new desk, his in-tray will include issues such as Vodafone's proposed network joint venture with ESB. Voda also complained loudly to politicians and regulators about Three's buyout of O2.

I’m sure his old colleagues wish him the best of luck.
