There's a row brewing in Dublin's sister city of San Jose, California.
A local website, San Jose Inside, says 10 members of the city’s councillors and officials are in Dublin this week on “a pub crawl disguised as a city-sponsored economic development junket”.
They’ve come to the right place, anyway.
The Fly, a wonderfully belligerent columnist, estimates it will cost the local authority “at least $20,000”. Add a few noughts on to that, mate. Have you seen the price of drink in Dublin?
Dubliners will be pleased to learn that San Jose officials justified it on the basis that they visit only every two years, while Dublin City Council visits California every year. Fantastic.
