Download an app to control in-flight entertainment Singapore Airlines is the first airline to introduce an app to control in-flight entertainment system.

Passengers can download the app in advance of their trip and see what is available on their flight.

Developed by MTT in conjunction with Panasonic Avionics customers can review the video and audio content and create pre-selected favourites lists.

The app is available for iOS and Android. It will initially be available on the new fleet of Airbus A350-900s with rollout to other aircraft through the year. The French group now has more than 3,900 hotels worldwide with 510,000 rooms and is in 92 countries.

Brands in the Accor stable include Mercure, Novotel, Sofitel, Ibis, Pullman and MGallery. Asia Pacific led the openings with 39 per cent, 14,000 room and 37 per cent in Europe 13,500. In the pipeline are another 160,000 rooms. The newest member of staff of the Hilton Hotels is a robotic concierge. Connie is programmed to answer queries about local dining, amenities and attractions.

Powered by IBM Watson technology and cognitive travel recommendation engine by Wayblazer, it will be able to refine its recommendations the more it interacts with guests.
