UBS, one of the world's largest managers of private and institutional money, reported a drop of 3 per cent in assets under management in the second quarter as it struggled with difficult markets and outflows of client funds.

But profits for the group as a whole, the world's 10th-largest bank in terms of market capitalisation, were seen remaining strong for the full year, UBS said yesterday.
