Public prosecutors yesterday raided the Rotterdam head office of World Online in an investigation into allegations of insider trading around the Dutch Internet provider's March IPO.

Officials from the Amsterdam-based public prosecution service have also visited several other addresses connected to World Online. In a statement it said the inquiry was a criminal one but gave no details of its scope or whom it concerned. Nor did it say what it was looking for.
