Subs: Dublin Theatre Festival

Dublin Theatre Festival is giving 10 Irish Times subscribers the chance to win two tickets for the opening night of Three Sisters at the Gaiety Theatre on Thursday, October 9th with an exclusive fireside chat with drinks and canapés before the show.

The fireside chat be in Little Museum of Dublin and will be with Róise Goan (Artistic Director and CEO of Dublin Theatre Festival) and a journalist from The Irish Times.

Directed by Marc Atkinson Borrull with designs by Molly O’Cathain, this enduring Chekhov classic is given a contemporary Irish take in a new adaptation by award-winning playwright Ciara Elizabeth Smyth. This adaptation is an examination of nostalgia, purpose and the cyclical nature of history, with a sharp twist of humour, and will feature performances by Megan Cusack (Call The Midwife), Lorcan Cranitch (The Crown), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), Breffni Holahan (The Nevers), Alex Murphy (The Young Offenders) and Máiréad Tyers (Extraordinary).

Due to popular demand an extra performance of Three Sisters has been added for Friday, October 10th at 14.30. The perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Other highlights in the final week of Dublin Theatre Festival includes Pieces of a Woman at O’Reilly Theatre. Set against the backdrop of present-day Warsaw, 30-year-old Maja comes to terms with a traumatic loss. Pieces of a Woman is from the writer (Kata Wéber) and director (Kornél Mundruczó) behind the award-winning hit Netflix film adaptation; witness the Irish stage premiere from TR Warszawa Poland.
