Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity leading up to a fatal stabbing in Co Wexford on Thursday night.
The fatal assault occurred shortly after 8pm in the Westbury Woods housing estate in Enniscorthy.
Emergency services and gardaí were called to the property where the body of a Polish man, who was in his 40s, was found with a knife wound. No other injuries were reported.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body, which remained at the scene overnight, was later removed to University Hospital Waterford following a preliminary examination by an official from the State Pathologist’s office.

Gardaí are currently treating the incident as a suspicious death and the results of the full postmortem examination will direct the course of their investigations.
A man, in his 20s who was in the house at the time and is believed to be known to the dead man, was arrested and is currently being held at Enniscorthy Garda Station.
Garda Technical Bureau members undertook a full forensic examination of the scene throughout Friday while they also cordoned off another premises close to the fatal stabbing.
In a statement, gardaí said: “At approximately 8pm, we received reports of an unresponsive male with serious injuries at a residence at Westbury Woods, Enniscorthy.
“A man in his 20s has been arrested as part of this investigation. He is currently being detained at a Garda station in Wexford under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
“A full investigation is currently being conducted. A family liaison officer has been appointed and will keep the family informed of this investigation.”
Garda Sgt Colm Murray from Enniscorthy Garda station added: “We are looking for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Westbury Woods between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday.
“In particular we are looking for CCTV or dashcam footage. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Enniscorthy Garda station on 053 9233534, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
