The people of Fermoy will have an opportunity to say farewell to murder victim, Tina Satchwell, with her funeral cortege set to pass through her home town.
Ms Satchwell, who was 45 when she was killed on March 20th 2017, is to be cremated at a private funeral service on Wednesday afternoon. Her remains were released last week to her family by coroner for south Cork, Frank O’Connell.
In a death notice posted on rip.ie, Ms Satchwell’s family said her funeral cortege will pass by her home at St Bernard’s Place in Fermoy at 12.30pm on Wednesday. The notice said Ms Satchwell’s funeral will “take place private and quietly, as she lived”.
Ms Satchwell was reported missing on March 24th, 2017. Her remains were found buried under the stairs in a house on Grattan Street in Youghal where she moved in 2016. They were confirmed as being her remains by Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margot Bolster, at postmortem.

Ms Satchwell’s husband, Richard Satchwell (57), has since been charged with her murder. He has been remanded in continuing custody to appear again at Clonmel District Court on November 7th by video link.
