Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman (70s) in a car was struck by a stolen SUV while she was driving in Dundalk, Co Louth, on Sunday.
The woman is being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with what are believed to be serious injuries.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a serious collision on the Armagh Road (R177) at the junction with the Toberona Road shortly after 1pm.
A car was struck by an SUV resulting in injuries to the elderly woman, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The two occupants of the SUV, which was earlier the subject of an “unauthorised taking”, fled the scene on foot and have yet to come forward.
Gardaí have conducted a technical examination of the scene and both vehicles involved, and the road has since been fully reopened to traffic.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. In addition, road users who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident are also urged to contact gardaí.
