Items of French antique furniture similar to those shown in the above photograph will be on sale today at a one-day fair being held at Newman House, St Stephen's Green, Dublin. The organisers, who own the Reverie shop in Sandycove, Co Dublin, have brought back a large number of items from recent visits to France.

These include three late 19th-century canapes, a large chandelier from the same period, a provincial kitchen armoire dating from circa 1840, a pair of beds with upholstered headboards and, from a later period to these other pieces, a 1940s two-seater leather sofa. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
