Once upon a time, long long ago, there was a Great Phoenix called Flame. She lived in the jungle. It was called the Fire Forest.

Flame’s best friend was a unicorn called Layla. Flame and Layla’s parents didn’t get along!

So the two friends ran away so that they could be together.

“Do you want to run away to London?” said Flame.

“Yeah!” replied Layla. So they spent the night in a cave. The next day, when they woke up, Layla and Flame saw an elephant and a snake, walking and slithering towards them.

Flame and Layla ran away as fast as they could. They started their journey to London. Layla thought that the snake and the elephant might be following them.

“Go away!” she shouted to the snake and the elephant. Flame started shooting fireballs at them.

Layla used her magical unicorn horn to trap the elephant and the snake into a bubble and then Flame put them into a deep sleep . . .

The snake and the elephant floated up and up and up into space.

They woke up and the snake decided to pop the bubble with her fangs.

“NO!” said the elephant, but it was too late. They fell down, down, down and landed in Times Square, New York City.

Everybody screamed.

Layla and Flame had got lost on their way to London and they met the snake and the elephant in Times Square.

The snake was looking at dresses in the window of a shop. The elephant said “Stop fooling around, although I do like that top . . .”

“What are you doing here?” asked Flame when she saw the elephant and the snake, “and where did you get those human clothes?”

“We fell out of the bubble and this is where we landed,” said the elephant, “but I wish we had gone somewhere else because the snake keeps looking at dresses.”

“We’re sorry that we sent you up into space in that bubble” said Layla. “We were just scared” said Flame. “Sorry that we were following you” said the elephant. “We just like playing games with other animals,” said the snake.

They made friends and told each other their problems.“We wanted to go to London but we ended up here,” said Layla.

“We were running away from our parents because they won’t let us be friends.”

“We have the same problem,” said the snake, “and we know the way to London.”

The snake showed them the map that was soggy from the bubble.

The four of them went to London together. Even though they loved London they still missed their parents. Layla made a portal with her horn to talk to their parents.

“We’ve missed you a lot, you need to come back, we can’t take it anymore,” said their parents.

Layla said: “But you won’t let us be friends.”

“We just want to make you happy,” said their parents.

“We’re sorry to make you worried but London is our new home now and we’re really happy here,” said Layla.

“Okay,” said their parents, “live your dreams but make sure to visit us soon.”

And they lived happily ever after with the snake and the elephant.
