Ruby Wax booked for Westport book festival this month

Comedian and mindfulness advocate to be interviewed by playwright John Breen

Comedian Ruby Wax, historian Prof Diarmaid Ferriter, writer Gerry Stembridge and poet Geraldine Mitchell are among participants lined up for this year's Rolling Sun Book Festival in Westport, Co Mayo, from November 15th to 17th.

Wax, who holds a master's degree in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy from Oxford, is due to be interviewed by playwright John Breen on November 17th.

Irish Times columnist Hilary Fannin and Stembridge will appear with clinical psychologist Eamon Smith on November 16th, while writer Karen McCombie, author of children's and young adult fiction, will read from her work.

Prof Ferriter will deliver a lecture on the impact of emigration as a “curse or a blessing”.
