Man About Dog, the new movie from I Went Down director Paddy Breathnach, is set to close the 16th Galway Film Fleadh, which runs from July 6th to 11th.
Described as "a raucous comedy set in the world of greyhound racing", it deals with three losers whose dog will only run when it suits him, but this doesn't deter them from trying to take on the bookies. The film features Allan Leech, Tom Jordan Murphy, Ciaran Nolan, Sean McGinley, Fionnula Flanagan and Pat Shortt.
Lenny Abrahamson's first feature film, Adam & Paul, featuring Mark O'Halloran (who wrote the screenplay) and Tom Murphy as Dublin junkies, is among the other new Irish features showing at Galway, along with Joseph Murphy's Grey, a story of love and revenge set in Cork; Ciaran O'Connor's human trafficking drama, Capital Letters; Stephen Kane's Starfish; Alan Gilsenan's Timbuktu; Lance Daly's The Halo Effect; and Margo Harkin's Belfast-set Are U Looking At Me?
