If you've ever wanted to walk a mile in Godzilla's destructive shoes,
Eat Them! will give you a good idea of how it feels to be a stomping, fire-breathing monster. The cel-shaded, comic book-style game revolves around a monstrous invention and a mad scientist who inevitably seizes control. The object is destroy the city, take on the authorities, and generally cause mayhem. Destruction takes energy, however, and when faced with the military blasting away at you, this energy depletes even quicker. So the monsters are designed to take advantage of a plentiful energy supply known as "organic fuel units" – people to you and me. While battering your way through city streets is fun, it also gets quickly repetitive. There's not enough variety in
Eat Them!to give it any long-term replay value, although the ability to add bits to the monsters to make them even scarier is a nice touch.
