S'Express is the vehicle which took Mark Moore from London clubland to acid pop star. It was quite a trip, with tracks like the evergreen Theme from S'Express shoving the punk veteran and Shoom DJ into the mainstream for a spell, a bit of a hoot he clearly enjoyed.
This remix album, with a cover visual that tips its hat to Linder Sterling’s artwork for The Buzzcocks, sees Moore overseeing a bunch of brash guns such as Punks Jump Up, Jagz Kooner, Tom Furse, Ray Mang and others as they recalibrate the S’Express back-catalogue for a new era.
Throbbing Gristle's Chris and Cosey serve up one of the real highlights by turning Lollypop into a blast of subterranean thump and bump, while Horse Meat Disco's take on Pimps Pushers Prostitutes bring to mind Moore's long ingrained fondness for sleazy disco.
