Motorhead frontman Ian Kilmister, better known as Lemmy, has died aged 70, days after being diagnosed with cancer in Los Angeles.
“We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words,” Motorhead said in a Facebook post.
Social media has responded to the death of the British rock star, with praise coming from bands and musicians influenced by Lemmy’s 40 years and 22 albums with Motorhead.
Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.
