Some bands languish in the margins for far too long; this LA punk-rock four-piece are one of them. LetLive have been at the forefront of the city's thriving post-hardcore punk scene for some years, but piqued the interest of Epitaph label boss (and Bad Religion guitarist) Brett Gurewitz with their third album, Fake History (2010). Cue a signing, a cash injection and a concerted effort to travel from the outer limits to the centre of the action. For fans of The Deftones and At the Drive-In, resistance is futile – here's a band that references the aforementioned but adds major-league pop melodies and choruses that have taken the likes of Linkin Park to the top. White America's Beautiful Black Market and Virgin Dirt are but two examples of how to do this type of (much maligned) music brilliantly. thisisletlive.com
