Irish rock band U2 played a surprise concert on the platform at Berlin’s U2 underground train line on Wednesday to promote their new album.

The event was less spontaneous happening than well-planned guerilla marketing event for Songs of Experience.

The band's 15-minute unplugged performance, including new songs and favourites such as One and Sunday, Bloody Sunday was filmed and will be made available on their Facebook page.

U2 have had a long connection to the German capital, recording their 1991 album Achtung Baby here.
