With 18 shows across three days featuring over 48 performers, the first Smithwicks Comedy On Tap Festival in Letterkenny from Thursday July 27th to Saturday July 29th takes place in a variety of venues throughout the town.
American, British, Australian and Irish comics are all on the bill and each show will feature two Irish and two overseas acts. Apart from Emo Phillips, the other main overseas names to look out for are Reginald D. Hunter, Arj Barker, Adam Hills, Kitty Flanagan and John Moloney. Of the Irish contingent, the Après Match trio make a welcome live return, while David O'Doherty, Gerry Mallon and the performers from Naked Camera also put in appearances.
One notable feature of the festival is The Cock and Bull evening of comedy and storytelling in An Grianán on Thursday, July 27th.
A mix of old style storytelling and contemporary comedy, the show features local storyteller Aussie Bryson and Jack Lynch (secretary of Storytellers of Ireland) alongside Hector Ó hEochagáin and Owen O'Neill.
