A set of eight late 19th century mahogany, Queen Anne-style dining chairs sold for £2,800 at the recent furniture auction conducted by John Ross & Co of Belfast. A Regency rosewood secretaire chiffonier made £2,300, a Victorian mahogany long-case clock with brass dial fetched £2,100 and a Victorian breakfront credenza went under the hammer for £2,050. Other prices included: £2,000 for a pair of large late 19th century portraits; £1,700 for a Georgian mahogany bookcase; £1,600 for a 19th century inlaid centre table; and £1,500 for a Victorian mahogany extending dining table missing its leaves.
