Transition Times:World Aids Day is coming on Friday. And with five people worldwide dying of Aids every minute, the crisis shows no sign of abating.

Today at 1pm in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin young people from around the country will be showcasing art, music and drama with the aim of reducing the stigma and discrimination that is often felt by those suffering from HIV and Aids.

The red ribbon has become a symbol to try and raise awareness and lessen the stigma surrounding the condition. Transition-year students in Gort Community School, Galway, have decided to form a human red ribbon in an effort to raise awareness in their school and local area.
