NOIR POP
Lykke Li
Vicar St, Dublin 7.30pm €40 vicarstreet.ie
Indie noir pop from Sweden shouldn't sound this brilliant, but Lykke Li – who provided the surprise highlight of U2's Songs of Innocence via her featured vocal on The Troubles – has the blending of electro, pop and mean-alley edginess down to a fine art. Her superb I Never Learn album will no doubt be prominently featured. Gig of the week?

THEATRE
Unhome
The MAC. 3pm £15 themaclive.com
In the theatre, homes are never as safe as houses. Jimmy McAleavey’s new play for Tinderbox suggests that there’s no shelter for our inner demons when Kitty, a young woman who has grown up in the home of a loving grandmother, suddenly feels her world begin to collapse. Part mystery, part psychological exploration, McAleavey’s drama is a look at what lurks beneath our mental floorboards.

JAZZ
Olivia Trummer
JJ Smyths, Aungier St, 5pm, €12 jjsmyths.com
Olivia Trummer made quite the impression in Dublin during her band’s classy set at the 12 Points festival in 2013. There’s definitely a New York pedigree to her music, but she’s based in Berlin, which is having its own avant-garde influence on her sound. An evening of sparkling piano playing, complemented by her pristine vocal, is surely a foregone conclusion.
This gig is to launch her new album, Fly Now, and if you don't catch her tonight, get down early to Charles Lloyd's show on Tuesday in the NCH, and you can catch her support slot.
