Rinne comhfhreagaí polaitíochta an Sunday Tribune, Shane Coleman, 20 moladh don Rialtas. Ba mholtaí iad seo a chuirfeadh feabhas ar shaol na hÉireann ach an misneach bheith ag an Rialtas iad a chur i gcrích, a scríobh sé.
Ag uimhir 10, bhí "Compulsory Irish in Schools": "You can love the Irish language and wish to see it promoted more and still question the logic of compulsory Irish in schools. It's a bit like the prohibition on alcohol in the US, it simply doesn't work. It remains a great untouchable but the facts demand a reassessment."
Ar ndóigh, is masla í an Ghaeilge éigeantach - bheith chomh fada sin síos liosta Coleman. Uimhir 10! Leath bealaigh síos an liosta. Tá sin náireach. Tuigeann gach duine gurb í an teanga máthair gach oilc in Éirinn.
Leoga, dá gcuirfí deireadh léi, déarfainn go mbeadh fuascailt gach uile fhadhb eile a luann Coleman aimsithe againn - ó dhrochstaid na n-otharlann go dlíthe pleanála.
Is faoi na heagrais Ghaeilge atá sé raic a thógáil faoi seo. Má tá dímheas le bheith ar an teanga, bíodh an dímheas sin chun tosaigh ar gach rud eile.
(PS: Tuarascáil would like to apologise for the compulsory Irish in this column. Blame the Christian Brothers.)
