This Is How We Fly
The Grand Social, Dublin 8pm €12 tickets.ie
Percussive dance is not an area we're all on speaking terms with, but American dancer Nic Gareiss describes it well in This Is How We Fly. Fiddler Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh weaves in between the clarinets and electronica of Seán MacErlaine and the percussion of Petter Berndalen. The result is a foursome who tear up the rule book with vim.
SIDE PROJECT
Join Me in the Pines
Riverbank Theatre, Newbridge, Co Kildare 8pm €15 riverbank.ie
What’s a guy to do when his full-time band (BellX1) is on its downtime? If you’re Dave Geraghty , you create a very fine side project and take it out on selected dates around the country. Expect subtle, inventive pop/rock music with hints of freaky folk.
