The 15th Gathering Traditional Festival 2014
The Gathering Festival, which has run since 2005, is considered one of the top cultural events in the country. Running in Killarney until Sunday, the festival presents an array of concerts, céilís, master classes, workshops and free music sessions. Acts include Stiolán Céilí Band, Jackie Daly, Garry O'Briain, The Voice Squad, Dennis Cahill and Martin Hayes, Téada with Séamus Begley and Damien Mullane.

Cork Arts Theatre Writers’ Week
Cork Arts theatre presents six plays from their One Act Play competition to be performed during Writer’s Week. The festival runs until tomorrow with performances at 8pm in the Cork Arts Theatre in Carroll’s Quay, Cork City.

Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh
The Kerry-based traditional music school continues in Ballyferriter on the Dingle Peninsula until tomorrow. Events include sean-nós singing and dancing workshops, concerts, lectures and sessions. Mick O'Brien, Emer Maycock, Seán Cleland, Paddy Cronin and Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich are amongst a number of performers taking part in the school. People are advised to register in advance for classes.

Collaborations Festival
Born in 2012, Collaborations is a showcase of new work from artists, performers and theatre markers held at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin city centre. The festival runs until March 8th .

St Vincent at the Olympia
The New-York based artist/performer/songwriter/innovator Annie Clark plays the Olympia in Dublin tomorrow, concluding her European tour. The support act is Slow Skies, the musical project from Dubliner Karen Sheridan. Doors open at 7pm.

Progressive Film Club
This Dublin-based club is dedicated to showing films about social justice issues from around the world. It opens its 2014 screenings tomorrow with films examining the question of identity. The New Theatre on East Essex Street will screen Dream Apocalypse, based on what it's like to be a student in England today, and National identity, which examines the repression of migrants since the end of the 1970s.
Admission is free.
