Cork audiences may look askance on the title, but Emmet Kirwan’s excellent play, the winner of this year’s Stewart Parker award, boasts enough lyrical flow and narrative surge to ingratiate itself with any audience. “Epic. In small ways,” is how one of its characters might describe this tale of two estranged brothers – one a weekend clubber, the other a homeless heroin addict – as they hustle and strive between parties, underground raves and destitution in Dublin’s streets during one hot summer. Written in rhyme, sensationally performed by Kirwan and Ian Lloyd Anderson, and snappily directed by Phillip McMahon, it abounds with wit and wordplay, dizzying highs and the propulsive sounds of the city.

Hot on the heels of Fleetwood Mac comes another band forged in the 1960s. With an enviable back catalogue of hits, expect this concert to be tinged with poignancy (more than likely it's Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey's, right, noisy farewell as The Who) and passion (songs as terrific as I'm a Boy, Pictures of Lily, I Can see for Miles and Won't Get Fooled Again).
