What’s on offer?

This is a south Indian takeaway, delivery and dine-in restaurant run by co-owner Shashidhar Reddy, specialising in dosas, biryanis and Indian breakfast. You can order from their website, Just Eat, Deliveroo, UberEats, or at the counter in the restaurant.

What did we order?

Chicken 65, a load of deep fried pieces of chicken breast that have been marinated in chillies and crisped to an addictive level on the edges. The layer of sliced red onions and wedges of lime on top add freshness.

The spicy roast dosa is crisp, stuffed with onions, peppers, jalapeños, coriander, carrot and cheese. On the side is a yoghurt-based sauce for dipping, similar to raita, and a small cardboard cup of soup.

We also ordered lamb biryani. The pieces of lamb were still on the bone, which is not a bad thing, there’s plenty of flavour in those bones, but there were quite a few of them. The mix of spices on the lamb could have been more nuanced but at this price level you can’t expect saffron.

How was the service?

Fast, friendly and professional.

Was the food nice?

The dosa was delicious but perhaps better as takeaway rather than delivery, which may hamper the wonderful crispiness. My dosa benchmark is the Dosa Dosa food truck which now has two locations, and it’s not quite at that level. The chicken 65 was good, the lamb biryani less successful.

What did it cost?

Dinner for three was €35.97: €7.99 for the chicken; €10.99 for the spicy roast dosa, €16.99 for the lamb biryani.

Where does it deliver?

Max 5km from its location at 143 Parnell Street in Dublin 1. Just Eat €2.99, minimum order €10.

Would I order it again?

Dosa is the thing they do well, and there are quite a few options worth ordering. The chicken 65 is a crowd-pleaser, but I would try the vegetable biryani rather than the lamb next time. Open daily.
