If you want to know more about Tony’s Chocolonely’s stance on child labour, here is Nicola Matthews, head of marketing for the company in the UK and Ireland: “Tony’s exists to put an end to 1.56 million children working in illegal circumstances on cocoa farms across West Africa. We proudly pay the living income reference price for our cocoa and pay more than 75 per cent more than other big chocolate brands to ensure all cocoa farmers are paid a fair wage, alleviating poverty in these communities and in doing so dramatically reducing child labour in the supply chain.”
