Two M&S wines with lesser-known Sicilian grapes

Wines for the Weekend: Why not make a Sicilian feast to go with these very decent wines?

We have two wines from Marks & Spencer this week, both part of their Found range. These are wines that feature more obscure, less fashionable grape varieties. Most of them are very good. Both of these wines are from Sicily, an island rich in history. Sicilian food and wine can be unique and wonderful, so why not make yourself a Sicilian feast to go with the wines?

The lucido is from Menfi, a region of Sicily close to Palermo. The lucido grape is a specific clone of the well-known catarratto variety, and is grown close to the Mediterranean shore. Nerello cappuccio is grown primarily on the slopes of Mount Etna. Along with its cousin Nerello masacalese, it produces wines of real refinement on the volcanic soils.
