Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a Co Cork crash in which a woman died on Friday.
The woman, who was in her mid-80s, was driving on St Mary’s Road in Midleton, east Cork, when her car hit a wall at about 10.30am.
Paramedics worked for more than 40 minutes in an attempt to save the woman, but were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a local GP.
The road was closed, and diversions were put in place to allow a Garda investigator to examine the scene.
