Pedestrian (40s) killed in Co Cavan road collision

The man was fatally injured when he was struck by a car on the N54 before 11pm on Saturday

A male pedestrian has been killed in a road collision in Co Cavan.

The man in his 40s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill, at around 10.45pm on Saturday.

The man’s body was taken to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital, where a postmortem examination will take place.

A man aged in his 20s who was driving the car involved was uninjured.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward. – PA
