Two magic words: micellar water. This is great for removing make-up. It is kind and gentle on the skin but extremely effective at lifting make-up and dirt. You can pick up a 400ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Water in Penneys for €4.50.

Coconut oil is really useful: mix with some Epsom salt and lemon juice to create an effective homemade foot scrub. The salt exfoliates the skin, and the lemon juice brightens and whitens the nails. Perfect for flipflop season.

I’m a big fan of products that have multiple uses. One such product is baby shampoo. Apart from the obvious, you can use this to give your make-up brushes a really good clean. Use lukewarm water to wash; hot water can melt the glue and cause the hairs to fall out. Then leave the brushes to air-dry overnight. You should aim to do this every few weeks to prevent the build-up of make-up and bacteria, which can result in breakouts.

When applying concealer to the area under your eyes, do so in a V shape and blend: light reflects upwards and this will reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eye.
