No matter what your budget is, there is an eyeshadow palette for everyone that can take you from the desk to dancing. It would be remiss of me not to mention the much-hyped Naked Smoky from Urban Decay (€46) that launched recently amid much excitement. While the price may seem steep, it actually works out at roughly only €3.80 per shadow. For more muted shades, the Naked 2 (€46) contains the most wearable shades, and, as with all their palettes, the pigment is strong, there is little fall-out and they last without seeping into the crease of your eyelid.
Sleek i-Divine Eyeshadow Palettes will suit the most demure to the most eclectic tastes. The Au Natural palette (€10.49) contains a selection of colours and textures from greys to purples, matte to pearlescent. What makes these stand out from the crowd is the pigmentation: you almost need to tone these shadows down rather than build them up.
And then there's Essence whose autumn-winter range has a more sophisticated air than previous collections. This brand has a fantastic selection of pocket-friendly products and its All About Nudes palette retails at €4.99. This is suitable for those who like their smoky eye on the subtle side.
