Getting the 1990s’ look with vintage Polo, Public Desire boots and pimped Asos

It is time to get our winter wardrobes and the new season’s look ready

This week we meet fashion intern Eimear Lynch from Dublin to chat about the end of summer (cry) and bringing the 1990s back for winter. It is time to start looking at our winter wardrobes and, with all the fabulous things in the shops, it takes the sting out of saying goodbye to summer.

Tell us about your outfit

My coat is vintage, I got it at a kilo sale so it was really cheap. It’s really warm and comfy but I’m sad that I’m wearing it because I feel like it’s marking the end of summer! I got my skirt from Asos but it was really ill fitting so I got it reworked by The Zip Yard. I got it a bit shorter and tighter to make it look more 90s.

My boots are from Public Desire. I never really wear them because I usually wear runners but I quite like them with this outfit. They’re super dirty though because I was out in the rain. Public Desire do really cool shoes and they’re all reasonably priced.

My choker is from River Island and was a tenner. I’m loving chokers these days. I bought my bag off Depop from a girl in Italy who was selling it really cheap which was fab because I love vintage Polo.

Describe your personal style

I would say it’s quite 1990s and sometimes minimalist. I wear a lot of runners and T-shirts and skirts. I also tend to wear a lot of black and denim.

What upcoming event are you looking forward to?

I’m most excited for Halloween. I just bought a ticket for BD Festival which is the day before it and there’s loads of good people playing. I love dressing up for Halloween and always put a fair bit of effort into my costume .
