From Newport in Co Mayo, Lisa Ryder started making silk scarves that quickly became known for their vibrant graphics and colours, earning her quite a few awards. A chance visit to a bag factory while visiting her Italian manufacturers gave her the idea of transferring these designs onto a collection of bags. Like her scarves, the bags are made in Italy by an artisan family using vegan leather made from cotton and flax with a polyamide finish. This one from her summer collection is called "Waterfall" and costs €570 from www.lisaryderdesigns.ie. The pale pink jacquard dress "Callie" is by Heidi Higgins €449 from Brown Thomas and www.heidihiggins.com.
