“The market for casual jewellery for men is really growing,” says jeweller Jenny Huston whose Edge Only range for men – all made ethically in Ireland – now accounts for 60 per cent of her sales in the UK. Her latest collection features earrings, necklaces and brooches – there’s one in the shape of a guitar, for instance – that come in gold, sterling silver and 18ct gold vermeil.

Huston is the daughter of the designer goldsmith and gemmologist Jane Huston who founded Kilkenny's jewellery design and production skills course for the Crafts Council of Ireland and ran it for 15 years, training a whole generation of Irish jewellers and later worked for Canada's largest jeweller. Her daughter has inherited those skills and, as a former Irish DJ, brings a more playful, rock'n'roll edge to fine jewellery. edgeonly.com
