Highland bling
The new season’s Massimo Dutti campaign was shot in Scotland by Josh Olins using the rugged landscape as a backdrop for its natural silhouettes, suits and impeccably cut capes and greatcoats, along with knitwear, silk shirts and embellished dresses in muted, natural tones. It’s a look that’s elegant, safe but distinctive, as are the accompanying accessories.
Fun afoot
A zany and playful new line of footwear called Iri, with multicoloured hand-painted heels inspired by children's drawings and paintings, launches online in October. Its creative director, Janet Yeung, is a young Parsons graduate who grew up in Korea, Hong Kong and the USA and brings a wide perspective to her work. The shoes, which are made in Italy in a mix of fabrics including neoprene, nylon and calfskin, are a new and inventive take on sneakers – exuberant yet practical, with outsoles revamped with multicoloured hand-painting.
