New moves for Loulerie
Fans of Louise Stokes’ little jewellery boutique, Loulerie, on Chatham Street in Dublin, will now be able to find her jewellery in Arnotts from the end of August in a major development for the designer ,who opened her shop in 2007 and weathered the storms of the downturn. Her selection of brands prompted by her time in New York includes Oscar de la Renta, Lulu Frost and the designer known for her jewelled scarves, Mignonne Gavigan, who visited Dublin earlier this summer. The new move will attract a host of new customers on Henry Street, who will be attracted to the unusual, colourful and exclusive pieces she chooses for both her new venture and existing one.
Snappy dresser
“Dressing well is an exercise in creativity, confidence and motivation for me,” says multimedia designer Jake McCabe, who says he integrates his personal style into every aspect of his life. McCabe also shoots street wear at fashion weeks, so is also a keen observer of other’s styles as well as designing his own clothing range. “I like bright colours and statement pieces,” he says, here wearing seven items from TK Maxx – straw hat €34.99; sunglasses €26.99; lime-green denim jacket €54.99; black floral print shirt €18.99; cream chinos € 24.99; lime-green belt €18.99 and black leather loafers €44.99.
