This survey in the Republic of Ireland was conducted on behalf of The Irish Times by Ipsos MRBI using Omnipoll, a telephone omnibus survey that interviews a fresh sample of 1,000 adults aged 15+ every three weeks.
The sample uses random-digit dialling to ensure that both listed and unlisted landline numbers have the same probability of being contacted. In addition, interviews are conducted with people via their mobile phones.
To ensure Omnipoll interviews a representative sample of the population it is monitored daily during the fieldwork period in terms of the age, gender, social class and region of respondents.
At analysis stage the data is weighted to the known profile of the population using the latest CSO estimates.
Interviewing took place from February 5th to 19th.
