Selfridges, the landmark London department store, will be the venue for a pop-up restaurant showcasing Irish food next month. Clodagh McKenna is setting up her Clodagh’s Irish Kitchen – a reflection of her recently published cookery book of the same name – in the Corner Restaurant on the second floor, on May 18th, 19th and 20th.

Irish whiskey cocktails and canapes will greet diners, who can look forward to a four-course menu somewhat modishly billed as Beef & Cheese, Seaweed & Nettle, Lamb & Nectarine, and Milk & Honey.

The first course will be carpaccio of Irish beef with Coolea cheese and radish. Frank Hederman’s smoked salmon, St Tola goat’s cheese and wild nettle pesto will feature in dillisk ravioli. Connemara lamb with fennel and apple syrup roasted nectarine will be the meat course. Rosewater infused carrageen moss with rhubarb and Irish honey will complete line up.

“It’s a contemporary Irish menu using the best of Irish ingredients to give a taste of what is current on the food scene in Ireland,” McKenna says.
