MasterChef UK judges and presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace have been appointed the "official taste buds" of Heathrow airport, a role that involved evaluating 73 restaurants and bars and setting the airport's food and beverage team the task of improving the dining and drinking experience. Their main recommendations were that more healthy options should be available to passengers and that the airport should consider creating a platform to champion British culinary talent. Something for Dublin airport to consider, perhaps? Food on the Fly , Heathrow's first food guide, will be distributed to passengers this summer. Among recent innovations at the airport are "take onboard" menus for the 17 per cent of passengers who like to buy food to eat on their flight. Not surprisingly, breakfast is the most popular meal eaten at Heathrow, with five million eggs, and 4.5 million rashers served every year.
