Santa Rita 120 Pinot Grigio Reserva Especial 2016, Central Valley
Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio are currently two of the most popular white grape varieties in this country. So it is hardly surprising that Santa Rita, maker of our favourite wine, the Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc, have released a Pinot Grigio as well. The wine is light, a mere 12% alcohol, refreshing and filled with attractive plump melon fruits. Perfect as an aperitif, a party wine, or with lightly spicy chicken dishes. Available from SuperValu, Tesco, Dunnes Stores and Centra for €11.99
Santa Rita 120 Malbec Reserva Especial 2016, Central Valley
Argentina has been stealing much of the limelight in South America with its rich, rounded Malbec. But on the other side of the Andes, Chile has always produced some very decent wines from the same grape variety. The Santa Rita 120 has a nice floral nose (typical of Malbec) and a generous amount of smooth blackcurrant and loganberry fruits. Perfect with grilled red and white meats. Available from SuperValu, Tesco, Dunnes Stores and Centra for €11.99
